Service Awards
Award of Excellence – recognizes associates for
outstanding individual community support and contributions. Established in 1979, it is the highest honor given by the company and
is designed to acknowledge and promote the spirit of service and volunteerism
that is a tradition of Belk stores.
Each year, the company
awards up to six associates with the Award of Excellence. Winners are nominated by fellow associates and chosen by a selection
committee. Each receives a $500
cash prize and trophy at a luncheon in Charlotte hosted by the Belk family and
Belk management in September.
